The cafe was was created almost ten years ago. The original vision for "The Clearing House - Community Cafe" (as it was first called) somehow continues to this day:
Our first priciple - to create a vital, supportive, sustainable and happy community.
Our method - to be of service, hold an open philosophy, generate a sense of welcome, of community togetherness, a feeling of being 'at home'. To encourage an attitude of love, support, healing, friendship. To provide a platform for creative expression, music, drama, arts, crafts, therapies etc. To serve wholesome organic, sprayfree food, grown locally where possible. To offer community services, library books and toys, information exchange, notice board etc.
Our dream - This is your place. Use it as your home, your community centre, a stage for your creativity. We are family. We are friends. Be who you need to be. This is your best friend's home, your lover's bedroom, your child's first picture, your Christmas dinner table.
This is somewhere we can treat others as we wish to be treated... or not... and observe the outcome.
